Root River Retreat Letter

Dear Friends of the Root River Quilter’s Retreat,
I hope everyone is having a fabulous 2008!
I am STILL in Massachusetts – my home has been on the market for 20 months! I have settled into a “waiting mode” and continue to work part-time at a gift store in Chelmsford . On September 15 th I became a Grandmother for the third time with the birth of Kalea McGrath and am currently excited about making baby clothes again. I know 2008 has been a difficult financial year for many people and everyone is pinching pennies. I hope you will be able to join us at Eagle Bluff on February 6, 7, & 8, 2009. You deserve a break from the everyday grind!
This year’s program will be a little different than in the past. Instead of a “project”, I am offering “skills classes”. The classes will be held in the classroom located at the end of the dormitory hallway. You may sign up for as many classes as you wish. The class schedule can be found on my website, http://millgirl.home.netcom.com , under the Root River Quilter’s Retreat page. You do not need to sign up in advance for any of the classes – I will pass around a sign-up sheet on Friday evening.
To sign up for the 2009 retreat, send your payment of $160.00 any time prior to the deadline of JANUARY 9, 2009 . Please be prompt and remember that I do not send the final letter containing information on what to bring, exchange block information, etc. until after the deadline. The deadline needs to be early so participants can begin planning for their weekend and Eagle Bluff has enough advance notice to order food, etc. There will be no refunds for cancellations after January.
Your fee of $160.00 covers lodging for Friday and Saturday evenings, Friday evening meal, three meals on Saturday, Sunday breakfast and lunch, all classes offered by Susan and the environmental class, sheets, blanket, pillow, and pillowcase. You may also rent a foam mattress pad for $5.00 (payable to Susan on Friday evening).
Send $160.00 check made payable to: Susan Dillinger, 15 Bartlett Street, Chelmsford, MA, 01824. Include name, address, phone, and e-mail address (you will receive future correspondence via e-mail unless you indicate you need snail mail), to arrive no later than JANUARY 9, 2009. (NOTE: Typical first class delivery time from Minnesota to Massachusetts can be 5 days!)
